Plans are already underway for fun and educational programs and workshops next year. Plans are always subject to change but as you can see in the following, our Programs Committee has been very busy!

Outdoor guide, Andrea Higgins is an educator and has led many walks for children and adults for a number of conservation commissions on Cape Cod. Andrea will introduce us to a unique way to experience the beauty of the outdoors. This guided mindful experience that she will share will gently invite you to notice all that is around you, engage your senses, and absorb the healing properties of your garden outdoor experiences. We may venture outdoors if whether allows.

Joan Butler will visit with us once again. Joan holds a degree in Geology from UMass Amherst and is a Certified Landscape Manager. “Propagating Peennials Workshop” Will increase your perennial collection, replace mature plants, grow varieties that may not be offered for sale, and even produce new hybrids! Learn different propagation skills including growing from seed, cuttings and divisions of a wide range of perennials in the combination lecture and demonstration.

A garden consultant’s perspective on helping people to plan perennial and vegetable gardens.
Karen will demonstrate with emphasis on Color, Texture and Form.
Karen has been working in industry for more than fifty years. She owned a flower shop in Chatham over 20 years, was a vendor at the Orleans Farmers Market selling her bread, flowers and veggies and works with her husband in their family landscaping business.

Speaker: Janice Dill from Green Briar Nature Center
The Green Briar Nature Center is a sanctuary of peace and beauty throughout the seasons. It is located on the shores of Smiling Pool and adjacent to the famous Briar Patch of Thornton Burgess’s stories. It is also the home to the Dr. Shirley G. Cross Wildflower Garden and the Green Meadow Forest and Live Menagerie, which has a number of small resident animals… it is a wonderful place to bring the family!
